Traveling with kids can be nice, exhausting, just like losing your sanity at times, sometimes even something you dread about!

We(my husband and I) have been a couple who LOVE traveling, exploring new places, national parks, beaches etc. We didn't want to change that after having a kid, but wanted to enable her and us to travel the world together!

Planning, Planning and Planning - This is one thing I have learnt, never travel without thinking about things before hand. Its helps you keep your sanity!

Toddler S seems to be an AWESOME traveler. But we do have to ensure we manage her nap times, food etc. Always keep various, multiple activities handy. Sometimes even new ones, as they take sometime exploring those :)

Things to carry (Activities/games aren't included in these):

Baby/Infant :

  1. Baby Food (I always carried homemade food, if your baby is still on BM, carry that)

  2. Ice pack bag - I had got a ice pack bag along with my breast pump and that is still my go to carrier bag.

  3. Extra pair of cloths

  4. Medicine (At least the basic one, I always have Tylenol, Zarabee, pedialyte (never forget this one), nose aspirator, thermometer, neosporin, little remedies for gases)

  5. Straw bottle/Straw cups

  6. Travel pillow

  7. Snacks

  8. Wet wipes

  9. Diapers, Diaper changing pad

  10. Diaper rash creams (Make sure its travel size)

  11. Ergo and/or Stroller

Toddler (In addition to above):

  1. Spoon & Fork (Option1, Options2(this comes with a case, which is great for traveling))

Long Flights :

Timings : Planning the flying times can be game changers.

Infant/Early toddler ages : We always planned our trip during nap time, sleep times. This helped us a TON!

Toddler S would be awake for a little bit and then sleep through most of the flight!!

Layovers :

Make the most of these layovers. Stretch your legs, let the kids play around.

TIP : Find a kids playing area. You will thank yourself later. Kids love playing in these and is a good source of burning their energy!

Long Drives :

Timings : We also plan these during nap or sleep times. OR Plan to take a long break where the toddler gets a chance to run around or play.

Stops : Plan ahead and look up areas that you can take break and have a park, or play areas etc.

We play a ton of games on the road. Some of them like :

  1. Spot a red colored car. etc.

  2. Watch the signals lights

Car seats are a big pain but sometimes, just adding a activity table helps cheer up!

I will keep adding to this, as I learn more and more!!

Happy traveling!
