Watching a game relaxing at home, on your couch, eating - What can beat that? Well, going to the stadium, watching it live, with all the energy, intensity and atmosphere!!
I was skeptical at first about taking the toddler to a soccer game as it's usually in the evening, clashing with dinner time etc :( But we went! (My husband was sure, he wanted to take her along.)
And I think it was the best decision, she had a blast and enjoyed it so MUCH!!
Tips :
Be early at the stadium (Stadiums can have HUGE lines, security checks..) It takes sometime to get in and to your seat.
Travel light, be sure to only take bags/backpacks, clutches that are within the permitted policy for the stadium
Take your own water, snacks and food for the toddler
Blanket
Depending on the weather and stadium, warm jackets/clothing
Transportation- Car/Public transportation? Uber?
No stroller (its a huge hassle to store them etc)
Take a baby carrier!
We went to a game at the Levis stadium last week. I read through a few blogs (Best seats at levis, and seat guide - this one has a lot of pictures from various locations) to choose the seating right. Some things to think about when choosing your seats :
What time of the day the game is?
Where would the sun be? (You don't want to be facing the sun)
What view you would have
Access to exits etc
I am glad we choose 131 section and our row was 31. Great view! LOVED IT!
We didn't buy a ticket for the toddler as they don't need one under 3 years. She mostly hung out standing or on sat on our laps.

The best part was cheering along with the crowd and enjoying the atmosphere throughout.

Food :
Levis has food courts/cafes etc, but I found it very handy to carry her own snacks and dinner. She could munch on it while the game was on. Take something thats dry and in a ziplock clear bag.
Bags :
Levis has very strict rules on bag sizes, backpack, purses etc. Be sure you get out here.
Keep everything in clear ziplock or clear bags. They have bag checkin stations but I thought its a hassle to keep them and then pick them up post the game.
Post Game :
Be sure to plan your way back carefully. Everyone exists at the same time. Lot of crowded trains/public transportations. The city does a very good job of managing crowds with blocked roads, additional trains and buses after game. But the lines can be big.
They have a uber station, as well so plan that well. Some roads get blocked so Uber might take a while too. There are a lot of parking lots around the stadium as well so if you can either find street parking or in parking out a little outside that may let you skip the traffic.
If you travel by public transportation be prepared to wait in line. Some folks leave 10/15 before the end of game to even avoid the traffic. We may try that next time.
